Binky & Babyhead: Scene Concept

Here's a typical messy sketchbook page, scattered with drawings from old cartoons as well as original stuff of my own. The page sparked an idea for scene with my characters Binky and Babyhead. I don't know Flash, but I'm going to use this scene to learn it. If anyone has some Flash book recommendations that focus on character animation that'd rock and be much appreciated!

Here's a more solidified panel from the scene. As I figure the scene out I'll be posting more drawings.

Cool drawings, fella!

You know, Flash is easy stuff. A book would probably just slow things down. Get a copy of Flash and just start playing around -- you'll be learning in no time! Once you learn the basics of how to use the program, then just apply animation knowledge to it, and away you go! Good luck!

Your style is amazing! I love your cartoony-stuff too. I'm trying to do that kind of drawing without it looking like I ripped it from a Tex Avery cartoon >_<. I'm used to more "realistic" type things, so it's definately a(nother) challenge for me. Best of luck with the Flash! I'd love to see how it all comes out. :)

Thanks KP! For me I borrow bits and pieces from different cartoon directors and animators I like. Everything from Mickey Mouse cartoons from the late 20's, early Betty Boop shorts to classic Looney Tunes and MGM cartoons. I still try to draw from life as much as possible too!
