Here are two pages from the ol' clipboard. I stole the whole 'clipboard as a sketchbook' thing from
Shane Glines. It really makes it easier to work with. No spine getting in the way, no fear of leaving a crappy drawing in the nice bound black sketchbook, easy to scan, etc...

SANTINO!
Oh my word, that Adam West style batman is awesome! the Two-face too. I tried to draw an Adam West style batman awhile ago and my attempts were just embarassing...but dude, you NAILED it. This is what I saw in my head while I was drawing CRAP.
Thanks man! I haven't attempted anything remotely super-hero related in years. It felt a little weird at first, but was still fun. Maybe I'll do some more this week.
Wow, I draw on a clipboard too! I'm not so different after all.
Awesome sketches! Do I see Santino Rice in thar? No. Probably not.
love it!!
Oh that's everybody's pal Santino alright!
AWESOME-o!

the jude law sketch was freaking sweet...even though i hate that guy with a passion...haha
take care
Great, another spumco related blog that I have no choice but keep checking forever. You guys are stealing all my time.
is that tracing paper? cool idea.
It's regular ol' 8.5 x 11 white copy paper. I buy it when it's on sale at Staples or Office Max.
so do you sketch in that blue pencil then go over it?
sorry if im sounding noobish.
For drawing I use Prismacolor pencils that have blue on one side and red on the other. Usually I start out with blue and then use the red to make the final lines. Sometimes I also grab a Papermate black felt tip pen to ink sketches.
There's nothing noobish about your question. Every cartoonist uses different materials and techniques. Asking what other people use is a good way to learn new and possibly better ways to do something.
