South Park Takes On The Family Guy

I always felt that The Family Guy was the worst animated sitcom ever, but I never really gave too much thought on why. Thankfully Jaime Weinman has summed it up nicely already! Enjoy the South Park rip on this travesty of animated entertainment below:

Thanks to Amid from Cartoon Brew for bringing it to my attention.

O.K. my friend ... yes the animation is bad, but so was the animation for the simpsons when it aired on the tracy ulman show moreover the animation is a product of a RISD education - enough said.

The Simpsons animation was better on Tracy Ulman. It was raw and had a lot of character. Something that can't be said for the current looking of The Simpsons or Family Guy. My major gripe with The Family Guy is the use of stupid pop culture references instead of writing real jokes. The fact that it's popular shows how far the standards of entertainment have sunk.

Oh contrare monfrare - the show mainly rips on Rhode Island and part of New England - after spending too many years there myself I have a great appreciation for the humor - Pop Culture you say - it what way does The Simpsons or even South Park not make use of Pop Culture? Their orginality is in the sensationalism at best. No new jokes there. If you wanna rip on some bad animation lets talk about Hanna Barbara in the 80's .

at least when the simpsons referenced pop culture actually made jokes about it instead of just throwing their characters into badly-drawn flashbacks. Even hanna barbera in the 80s was better than that!
